The Jackson County School System has been awarded a Georgia Reads Community Award grant worth $20,000 to further strengthen local literacy initiatives throughout the school system.

The Jackson County School System has shown notable improvement in the latest College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) results released by the Georgia Department of Education.

West Jackson Elementary School teacher Dr. Stephanie Westhafer has been named the Georgia Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year by Farm Bureau.
