East Jackson Elementary School has been named a 2026 Georgia Title I Distinguished School, the Georgia Department of Education announced Wednesday. This recognition places East Jackson Elementary among the top five percent of Georgia's Title 1 schools for overall performance, based on combined ELA and Math scores from the Fiscal Year 25 school year. 

The Title 1 Distinguished School recognition adds to a growing list for the school. During the 2025-26 school year, EJES was named a Beta School of Merit, PBIS Distinguished School, in addition to being named to the U.S. News and World Report's List of Best Elementary Schools. During the 2024-25 school year, EJES was also recognized as a Georgia Department of Education Math Leader.
