Welcome to PreK at East Jackson Elementary!

Our goal is to provide our Pre-K students with a clean, safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment where they are encouraged to develop a lifelong love for learning. Our three Pre-K classrooms focus on encouraging children's cognitive, social, emotional, critical thinking, and physical skills. Children are active learners and we focus on purposeful play activities reinforcing reading, math, art, dramatic play, and much much more. The Pre-K program allows your child an extra year to grow and learn, focusing on the child's interests. We look forward to a great year in Pre-K.

Georgia's Pre-K Program is a state lottery-funded educational program designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten and later school years. Parents of the children who are selected for JCSS Pre-K commit to sending their children to school for the complete six-and-a-half-hour day, 180 days a year, on the same schedule that our elementary schools run. We know regular school attendance is a key component in a child's academic success. Children who are late, leave early or are absent for 10 consecutive days without a medical or other reasonable excuse may be disenrolled, and the slot will be filled immediately with the next student on the waiting list.

Welcome to Kindergarten at East Jackson Elementary!

Kindergarten provides students with the first learning experiences in language development, number concepts, creative skills, and social and physical growth. Our kindergarten students are introduced to basic reading skills through guided reading, literacy centers, and read alouds. In math, students work in small groups learning concepts such as counting, shapes, and problem solving skills.  We work hard to provide our students with an engaging, enriching, and positive learning environment.

Welcome to 1st Grade at East Jackson Elementary!

We are so excited for you to be with us during this amazing year of learning! We are dedicated to helping build upon the foundation that began in kindergarten and will extend through the year in first grade. We will learn new math concepts, phonics skills to enhance reading skills, and learn to write and publish stories.

The first grade team is dedicated to providing engaging learning opportunities and a positive learning environment so that our students gain a love of learning that will last a lifetime. 

Welcome to 2nd Grade at East Jackson Elementary!

In 2nd grade, your student will work on becoming a more experienced writer and reader by practicing their skills in more complex ways. They will move from learning how to read to reading for learning.  Students will read bigger and more complicated books, and write longer and more detailed pieces.

We will also work on projects that involve research and critical thinking to show your student’s learning and understanding. At this age, students also pay more attention to friendships and teamwork. We will work to foster positive cooperative learning experiences and improve social skills.

Welcome to 3rd Grade at East Jackson Elementary!

Some things we will explore this year include the Regions of Georgia, Branches of Government, Native Americans and the European Explorers. Third Grade is also the year for multiplication mastery, 3-digit addition and subtraction fluency, and foundation of fractions. We will continue to grow into stronger readers and writers as we discover strategies to improve our skills and enhance our love of literacy.

Third grade is where the transition from “learning to read” changes to “reading to learn”. We will build our classroom community using the teachings from our Social Emotional Learning program - The 7 Mindsets. In third grade, EVERYTHING is POSSIBLE!!

Welcome to 4th Grade at East Jackson Elementary!

We are a team of teachers dedicated to helping your child achieve their goals both academically and socially. Fourth grade is a year when your child will learn to become more independent while building a community with one another. We will master multi-digit multiplication, multi-digit division, and work with fractions. We’ll visit the American Revolution and travel to the stars. Our journey will take us far!   

Welcome to 5th Grade at East Jackson Elementary!

The 5th grade team strives to prepare students for middle school by teaching responsibility and accountability, all while challenging students to achieve their personal and academic goals. We are committed to meeting student needs and providing an academically challenging environment. It is our hope that the 5th grade students feel loved and supported in their last year at the elementary level, and that they feel prepared to successfully move forward in their academic careers.  

Welcome to Specials at East Jackson Elementary!

At EJES, students are given amazing opportunities to learn, play, create, and grow through Art, Music, PE, STEAM and Technology. In Specials, our goal is to ensure every student has the opportunity to connect their learning to unique, hands-on experiences, engage with our school and local community, and establish themselves as critical thinkers, good communicators, and strong collaborators.

Our range of special area classes gives every student a place to show us exactly how special they are, and we hope that every student leaves our classrooms more curious and energized about learning than they came to us.

Welcome to Instructional Support at East Jackson Elementary!

At East Jackson Elementary, our staff of instructional support teachers work together with homeroom teachers and our administration team to provide the best academic and behavior support for each of our students! East Jackson is special because of the individualized approach our staff takes to meet the needs of each learner in our building!
