My name is Kara Mawdesley and I am honored to be the school counselor at East Jackson Elementary School. I look forward to nurturing and supporting our EJES students in their social/emotional, academic and career exploration needs. I have been a school counselor for 7 years and have over 20 years of experience in working with children and youth in various jobs and capacities. Counseling Mission Statement

The mission of EJES Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses academic support, personal and social skills development, and the exploration of career interests. The counselor partners with teachers, administrators, parents, and the community to help all students acquire the attitudes and skills needed to overcome barriers in life. The end goal is to foster lifelong learning, problem solving, perseverance, and emotional wellbeing.
