I am very excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year at East Jackson Elementary school! I am blessed to serve as Principal here at this wonderful school.  This year will be my 23rd year in education and my 21st year in Jackson County. I began my career in my home state of Virginia teaching fifth grade. My husband and I moved to Georgia in 2001.  Since then I have been a fourth grade teacher at SJES, served as the assistant principal of Maysville Elementary School, South Jackson Elementary School and here at EJES.

EJES is a great place to be! Our students are bright and talented and we strive for greatness every day!  We have many exciting things going on from innovative classrooms, unique learning opportunities for students, after school clubs, celebrations,  and much more! Our teachers are amazing and they work very hard to provide a rigorous, standards based curriculum that is tailored to the individual needs of our students. We believe that East Jackson students deserve the very best and we work to ensure they get it every day.  We stand by our motto, “Expect More, Achieve More,”

At EJES, we welcome your input to ensure that our school is the best!  I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child throughout the year.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come by the school or you can contact me by phone at 706-336-7900 or email me at apennington@jcss.us.  Thank you for all of your support!

Welcome to the East Jackson Elementary family!  I consider myself blessed to be a part of the East Jackson community. This will be my fifth year at East Jackson Elementary and I am humbled to be a part of such an amazing school. The staff, students, parents, and community have continued to amaze me with the outstanding support and dedication that makes EJES an awesome place to call home. I feel that EJES staff is the most hard-working staff that I have worked alongside of in all of my years in education. Our motto, “Expect More, Achieve More” says it best! The mindset is high expectations and relentless efforts given by all.

I have been in elementary education for 26 years and 17 of those years have been in Jackson County. My family resides in Jackson County and all three of my children have attended Jackson County Schools. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the East Jackson Elementary students, staff, and community as the Assistant Principal. At EJES, we value each child and work effortlessly to provide each child with an exciting and meaningful educational experience.

At EJES, we welcome and value our parents and encourage involvement and communication. Therefore, we invite you to join our wonderful parent volunteer group, known as our Eagle Aides, who work diligently to make our school an exciting and welcoming place for our parents, students, staff, and the community. I am excited to work with you and your children to make the 2020-2021 school year a successful one!
